Ingredients:

  • 1 t. garlic infused oil
  • 1/2 onion, diced
  • 16 ounces ground beef
  • 7 cloves roasted garlic, mashed
  • 1/2 package Mrs Dash no salt Taco Seasoning
  • 1/2 c. tomato sauce
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 1 T. corn meal
  • 1 T. no salt chili powder
  • 1/2 t. cumin
  • 1/2 can no salt added pinto beans, drained and rinsed (5 ounces cooked beans)

Directions:

Heat oil in sauce pan, add onion and saute for 5 minutes on medium high heat, stirring occasionally. Add the beef, and stir breaking it up. When the meat has cooked for about 5 minutes and has no more red showing, add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.

Turn heat to medium, add the Mrs Dash seasoning, tomato sauce, water, corn meal, chili powder and cumin. Stirring often, cook until warmed and the flavors are combined- about 6-7 minutes.

Add the pinto beans and cook another 5-6  minutes, stirring often.

Serve on warmed corn tortillas, or in low sodium corn taco shells. You can also use the meat in a Taco Salad as shown in the photo.
