Slow Cooker Unstuffed Cabbage Roll Casserole

Ingredients

  • 1/2 head cabbage, chopped
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • 10 oz ground beef
  • 1 c. cooked rice (do not use salt in cooking water)
  • 1 t. onion powder
  • 1/2 t. garlic powder
  • 1/2 t. black pepper
  • 1 8 oz can no salt tomato sauce
  • 1 14.5 oz can no salt diced tomatoes
  • 1 15 oz can no salt tomato sauce

Directions

Spray slow cooker with a non stick spray for easier cleaning.

Place 1/2 of the chopped cabbage in bottom of cooker.

Mix well the following: onion, ground beef, rice, onion powder, garlic powder, and black pepper.

Now add this mixture on top of the cabbage in cooker.

Add the 8 oz can tomato sauce and diced tomatoes on top of the meat mixture.

Add the remaining cabbage on top of the diced tomatoes, then pour the 15 oz can of tomato sauce over the top.

Cook on high 6 hours. Stir before serving.

A pinch of salt on your plate is optional.

Makes 7 cups with 90 mg sodium in each 1 cup serving.
