Ingredients
- 1/2 green pepper, diced
- 1/2 red pepper, diced
- 1/2 onion, diced
- 1 T. garlic, diced
- handful of grape tomatoes, cut in 1/2 (optional)
- 14.5 oz can no salt diced tomatoes with garlic, onion, oregano and basil
- 8 oz can no salt tomato sauce
- Pasta- I like to use angel hair because it cooks so fast
- Parmesan cheese, grated- optional
Directions
Saute the peppers and onion, then add the garlic and tomatoes. Cook for a few minutes and then add the diced tomatoes and sauce, cooking for 30 minutes to meld the flavors.
The sauce has a total of about 160 mg sodium, without the cheese.
Use with your favorite pasta.
Serves 3-4 people.
I added some Oven Baked Meatballs and topped with cheese.
