Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp. Butter
  • 1Tbsp. Oil
  • 3 Green onions chopped
  • 4 cloves of garlic minced
  • 2 Tbsp. Brown sugar
  • 1 lb. steak strips. (flank or strip steaks)
  • Black pepper to taste
  • ¼ cup no salt added beef broth
  • ¼ cup soy sauce (China Town brand is the lowest I found) or use the soy sauce substitute in the files
  • 2Tbsp. Cornstarch
  • ½ lb. Egg noodles cooked ahead of time

Directions

Prepare steak by cutting into ½ wide strips and as thin as possible. (you can pound it thin before you cut)

Prepare a cast iron frying pan by heating it with the flame set on high.

Once the pan is hot and the butter and oil, add the steak and cook until desired tenderness. (2-3 minutes per side is how I would make it.)

Season the steak with black pepper as it cooks. Lower heat to medium.

Once steak is cooked add the onions and garlic to the pan with the steak.

Mix well and cook for 1 minute. Turn heat to low.

In a mixing bowl combine the beef broth, soy sauce, and the cornstarch, mix well and set aside, add the noodles to the pan with the meat and onions and mix well. Next pour in the beef broth, soy sauce mixture.

Turning heat back up to high.

Constantly mix all ingredients until the sauce thickens.

Once the sauce has thickened turn off heat and serve.
