Ingredients
- 2 cups broccoli, cut up
- 1/2 onion, cut up
- 1 teaspoon tarragon
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Flavor with Mrs Dash Table Blend (or you favorite seasoning)
- Cook these in 1 1/2 cups no salt chicken broth until tender about 10 minutes.
Directions
I use a stick blender (you can use a blender, but you must be very careful–this is hot!!)
–Blend til no pieces of broccoli or onion remain. Pour into extra bowl.
In the hot sauce pan:
Melt 2 T. butter
Then add 2T. flour- use whisk to mix and let brown a little.
Add 1 cup milk and whisk until thickened.
Add the broccoli mixture carefully (hot!) and whisk. Heat til warm.
Add fresh ground pepper. You can also add a pinch of shredded cheddar cheese to your bowl- optional.
This is quite good with 1/2 a sandwich, or some no salt crackers.
