Prep Time 3 mins     Cook Time 20 mins   Total Time 23 mins + time to marinate

Ingredients:

  •  4 boneless, pork loin chops (1 lb)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 cup sodium reduced soy sauce (Chinatown)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp ginger minced
  • 2 tsp sriracha sauce (used TJ Chili Pepper Sauce)
  • black pepper to taste
  • green onion slices, sesame seeds, parsley (optional garnish)

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 400°F

2. Mix together the soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, sesame oil and hot sauce and pour it into a large baggie.

3. Add the pork chops to the marinade, zip up the baggie and massage the marinade into the chops making sure they are well coated.

4. Place the baggie into a bowl in case there is leakage.

5. Let the chops sit in the marinade for at least 30 minutes. The longer the chops marinate, the more flavorful they will be.

6. Add the olive oil to a large, heavy bottomed skillet and place the pan over medium high heat.

7. When the oil is hot, remove the chops from the baggie and set the marinade aside. Place the chops in the hot pan.

8. Cook the chops until they are nicely browned on each side, about 5 minutes per side.

9. Pour the reserved marinade over the chops and continue cooking for 5-15 minutes or until the chops are cooked through and no pinkness remains. Cooking time will vary according to the thickness of the chops.

10. Serve immediately. Garnish with green onion slices, sesame seeds, or parsley, as desired.

Makes 4 servings, each serving has approximately 331 calories, 220mg sodium and 10.5 carbohydrates with ingredients used.

  1. Okay, I looked up the original recipe as cited, and she finished cooking her chops in the oven. I don’t think I will do that; I’ll probably just put a lid on the skillet for a few minutes. But please proofread better when revising these recipes! It’s summer and heating my oven makes the whole apartment hot, so I don’t want to do it if it’s not necessary. Thanks.
