Ingredients

  • 3 pounds of tomatoes
  • 1-14/ cups chopped celery with the leaves
  • 1/3 cup chopped onion
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • Pinch of fresh ground black pepper

Directions

Put all ingredients into a large Dutch oven. Bring to a simmer and cook, uncovered, until mixture is completely soupy, about 25–30 minutes. Force mixture through a sieve, or food mill. Cool completely.

Store covered and chilled.
