Ingredients
- 12 oz. ground beef
- 1/4 onion, diced
- 2- 8 oz cans no salt tomato sauce ( or 1 -16 oz. can) (save 8 oz for topping peppers before cooking)
- freshly ground pepper to taste
- 1/4 t. onion powder
- pinch garlic powder
- 2 t. basil 1 t. oregano
- 1 c. cooked rice
- 1- 14.5 oz no salt diced tomatoes w/ basil, garlic, oregano
- 2 large green peppers, cut in 1/2 and cleaned
- Parmesan cheese, optional, for topping when serving.
Directions
Mix ground beef, onion. tomato sauce- saving 8 oz tomato sauce for later, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, basil, oregano and rice.
Pour the diced tomatoes in bottom of crockpot.
Place cut peppers in crockpot, fill them with the meat mixture.
Top with the remainder of the tomato sauce.
Cook on low 7-8 hours.
Serve and spoon extra juice onto peppers.
Top with Parmesan, optional.
