Baked Parmesan Tomatoes

Ingredients

  • 4 large tomatoes (use heirlooms if they’re in season!)
  • 1/3 cup parmesan cheese block, freshly grated
  • 1/4 cup powdered parmesan
  • 3 tablespoons fresh basil, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Mrs Dash original no salt seasoning
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 4 garlic cloves minced into a paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed chili pepper
  • 1.5 tablespoon olive oil

Directions

Begin by preheating your oven to 400˚ degrees Fahrenheit and preparing your tomatoes:

Wash and cut them in half and place on a baking dish lined with parchment paper cut side up.

Season tomato with pepper.

Mix cheeses, basil, garlic, crushed chili pepper and olive oil.

Then, evenly spread mixture on top of each tomato.

Bake in the oven for 15 minutes until juices just start to bubble but tomato still holds its shape.
