Pasta and Peas – Low Sodium Version

Ingredients

  • 8 oz. of Turkey Bacon, chopped and cooked crisp
  • 10 oz. frozen peas
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 12 oz. Angel Hair Pasta, cooked by directions
  • 2 cloves Garlic, finely minced
  • 1/4 Cup Olive Oil
  • 1/2 lemon, Juiced
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1/2 Cup reserved pasta water
  • 1/2 Cup shredded Boar’s Head Low Sodium Lacy Swiss Cheese.

Directions

Fry up the chopped Turkey bacon and take out placing on paper towels or newspapers.

Add in same pan Olive Oil, onion, garlic and cook until onion is soft.

Add in Turkey Bacon, cheese and pasta adding in a bit of pasta water – toss pasta around until well heated and incorporated.

Serve! It’s very low in sodium — 130 MG Sodium per serving of turkey bacon. 35 MG of Sodium per slice of the cheese I used.
