Ingredients

  • 1-1/4 cups plus 1 Tbsp water
  • 2 Tbsp Butter
  • 3 Tbsp honey
  • 1 cup rye flour
  • 2 3⁄4 cups bread flour
  • 1 Tbsp caraway seeds
  • 2 tsp dill weed
  • 1 1⁄2 teaspoons yeast
  • Small amount of butter to brush on top of loaf when finished.

Directions:

Add all ingredients to bread machine baking pan, in order suggested by manufacturer.

Use dough setting.

Remove from bread machine, knead gently on a floured surface, put in loaf pan.

Cover with towel and let rise for 30 minutes

Bake at 350° for 30 minutes.

Remove from pan, brush top with butter, let cool completely before slicing.

  1. Greetings, I enjoy this rye bread but have the following question. What is the best bread machine setting for this bread? I have options of 1 lb, 1.5 lb or 2 lb. What might you suggest as the best setting on my bread machine. I have a “Welbilt” bread machine. Maybe the recipe mentions the yield and I missed it, but you answer will clarify this for me.
