Ingredients:

  • 1 cup Panko or no salt breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp ground pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/4 tsp dried basil
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano
  • Add any other spices you may like – cayenne, red pepper flakes
  • chicken wing portions

Directions:

1. Place all the ingredients, except chicken wings, into a large zip lock bag and shake vigorously to mix all the ingredients well.

2. Heat oven to 400°. Spray a large cookie sheet with a light misting of oil.

3. Making sure the wing pieces are fairly dry but still have some moistness, place 5-6 at a time into the bag of breading mix and shake well. Once coated, place on the cookie sheet. Continue until all the wing pieces have been breaded.

4. Lightly spray the tops of the wings with a butter flavored spray and then place the tray into the oven.

5. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and no pinkness remains around the bone (especially on the meatier pieces).

6. When cooked, let cool for about 5 minutes…serve with carrot sticks and loso ranch dressing.

7. Dip your wings into your favorite wing sauce and enjoy!

*If you are making only a few wings you can store the Fake Shake ‘n Bake in the freezer for the next batch.

This breading is also good on pork, fish and larger pieces of chicken.
